This an introductory course in biology. Topics to be covered will include scientific method, ecology, cells, genetics, evolution, diversity of life, plants, invertebrates, vertebrates, and human biology. Students will participate in extended laboratory work and will also be required to design and perform their own experiments. Higher level thinking skills of analysis and synthesis, problem solving, and interdisciplinary research will be developed in this course.
