Course Number: 55001 Prerequisite: Biology and Chemistry This one-year course will prepare students to take the Biology SL exam and also serves as the first year of Biology HL. Topics covered in this course will include biochemistry, cellular processes, ecology, genetics, anatomy, physiology, fitness and nutrition. A significant portion of this course will be conducted in the laboratory. Students will learn to design and perform their own experiments. Students also participate in the Group 4 project, an interdisciplinary research and study project that include physics and/or chemistry students. IB Final Assessment: External - 3 examinations totaling 3 hours
