(French, German, or Spanish) (Y) Credits 1.0 each year Course Number: 52105, 52115; 52205, 52215; 52305, 52316; Prerequisite: Levels l & II or permission of instructor This two-year course focuses on interaction between speakers and writers of the target language. The student prepares to use the language appropriately in a range of situations and contexts and for a variety of purposes. The skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing are developed through the study of a wide range of oral and written texts of different styles and registers. An appropriate range of grammatical structures are integrated with the study of themes and texts and the acquisition of skills. IB Final Assessment: External - Three-hour examination at the conclusion of the two years; Internal - Taped oral presentation. There is a required workbook and novel fee.
