(Grade 10, required) (Y) Credits 1.0 Course Number 56300 Prerequisite: World Studies American Studies, taught in conjunction with American Literature, focuses on the history and cultures in Western Europe and North, Central, and South America, with emphasis on the 19th Century. Students will become familiar with terminology related to the study of cultures, explore the historical development of these cultures, and develop and appreciation for cultural differences. Students will work with developing skills in outlining, working in small groups, doing oral interpretations and presentations, and using multi-media visuals.
