OKMA SENIOR PICTURES

Q

What are my options for Senior Pictures?

A

You have several options when choosing what photo to use for your senior picture. Please read through each carefully.

Option A

If you choose to be photographed by Prestige, you must have your pictures taken before Saturday October 12, 2013. So you can then choose which picture will go in the yearbook NO LATER THAN Saturday October 26 (in order to choose your own image, you must go in to the studio and sign a paper).

Option B

If you choose a different photographer, you must turn in your senior picture with the specifications (see the following) to Mrs. Cinader NO LATER THAN November 26th. Here are the specifications for senior photos not taken through Prestige:

• one DIGITAL photographic image

• MINIMUM of 300 dpi (600 dpi preferred)

• image to be in .JPG or .Tiff format

• best or highest quality camera format

• image identified with student name

• NO SMALLER THAN : 1 1/2” (wide) x 2” (tall) in size

• head size to be appropriate for the above size requirements (1” from chin to top of head)

• head and shoulder pose ONLY

• no environmental background

• no hands in the photograph

• plain light blue or grey background

• no fades, ghosted images, or corner effects

NOTE! If you choose to go through a company OUTSIDE of Prestige, your photo will NOT be included in the Senior Composite picture UNLESS you get a head shot done at one of the Prestige photos (anytime before December 1st). Each student who had their pictures taken through Prestige automatically will receive a Senior Composite picture (11x14). This is done through Prestige and not through the school. If you want to be included in the picture, please contact a local Prestige studio for a head shot. It's $28 for the 11x14 picture of your graduating class. An example of a Senior Composite photo can be seen in the main office on the wall over the timestamp.

Option C

You may use your Picture Day photo, which is taken through Lifetouch/Prestige. This means that you cannot participate in the senior "Funny Foto" which is being organized by Victoria Rai and Emily Moll. You need to request a blue-grey background and ask for the pose where they ZOOM OUT (pose 4, normally). Please see Mrs. Cinader before the Picture Day.

With all of these options, you need to inform a yearbook editor or Mrs. Cinader as to which your choice will be. If we do not have record of your choice or a photo for you, then you will not be included in the 2013-14 yearbook. Please contact us as soon as possible with your choice.

From the Ashes was originally started by a group of students at the International Academy in 1998. This group of students published the first issue of the International Academy literary magazine. After 1998, the magazine took a hiatus. In 2004, Mrs. Erin Saxsma was asked to be the new literary magazine advisor. This group of students worked really hard to get student writing and poetry for the next edition of From the Ashes. Finally, in 2005, Mrs. Klaudia Janek was asked to be the new literary magazine advisor and students spent the year collecting poetry, stories and artwork. The first volume was published in 2006, with 2 years of student work. The Phoenix Publishing Group was founded and an issue of From the Ashes has come out every year. We are currently publishing our 8th edition of From the Ashes in 2013. Students from all 3 campuses of the International Academy are invited to publish their work.
