Students are required to participate in a minimum of one product team per year. Students are organized into cross-grade teams to work with a mentor on a semester-long project which will link their academic learning with a tangible product or service and organizational process. Each team is required to submit reports to student government. Each student will be graded by the mentor according to the product team profile.
Product teams will be engaged in a variety of projects including: community service, in school services, service to consortium schools, business and international partnerships. The primary organizational, management and task responsibilities will remain with the students.
Credits from 4 Product Teams are an IA graduation requirement.
The student profile will be used within the International Academy to evaluate each student's progress in product teams. Students will have the opportunity to use their enrichment week documentation, internship documentation and product time documentation to create an impressive resume of activities and achievements.
