In addition to graduating with honors as a valedictorian, Claire Thomson is a National Merit Finalist and nominee for the Presidential Scholars Program. She has run varsity cross-country and track and field for the past four years has been a team captain for two years and earned Academic All-State for cross-country in her sophomore and junior year. Along with being a board member for Chemistry Club and Winter Running Club, Claire is a member of German Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society.
This fall, Claire will attend the College of LSA at the University of Michigan, where she plans to major in Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Hector Benitez Ventura - Hector is the valedictorian of International Academy West. He co-founded an e-learning start-up called InertiaLearning, started a self-help initiative called ThrivingMindset, and was elected as Michigan DECA's VP of Business Partnerships. Hector is passionate about finance, establishing an investment club in his high school and avidly managing an investment portfolio himself. Hector also participated in varsity tennis for four years and earned a black belt in taekwondo.
Anay Modi - Anay Modi will graduate from the International Academy - East Campus this spring as a valedictorian of his class. He was also named a National Merit Finalist and a Presidential Scholars candidate. Throughout high school, Anay has participated in FIRST Robotics, varsity tennis, National Honor Society, Bollywood-fusion dance, and intermural basketball. In his free time, Anay enjoys completing challenging technology projects, which he writes about on his blog. Additionally, Anay runs his own tutoring business and is an avid sports fanatic. This fall, Anay will attend the University of Michigan to study Computer Science with future aspirations of pursuing a career in artificial intelligence.
