Seniors Requests for Predicted Grades

Dear Seniors,

There are a very small number of students that will be applying to Oxford or Cambridge this fall. These universities have a slightly different admissions schedule and different requirements. If you are applying, you will need to submit the request for your IB predicted grades by October 1 in order to have your grades in time for your application.

Okma National Merit Semi-finalists

Seventeen IA Okma students were named National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. This honor is bestowed to less than one percent of students nationwide, based on their scores on the Preliminary SAT. About 1.5 million students take the PSAT every year.

2018 Okma Graduate presents poster at Conference of the International Association of Aquatic Animal Medicine

Larissa Michel (IA 2018) attended the 49th Annual Meeting and Conference of the International Association of Aquatic Animal Medicine in Long Beach, CA in late May, 2018, where she presented her research "Geographic Variation in the Vocalization Frequencies of the North Atlantic Subpopulations of the Beluga Whale (Delphinapterus leucas) and Its Possible Relationship to Anthropogenic Noise" during their annual scientific poster session. She and her poster caught the eye of many of the top experts and researchers in the field of Marine Mammology, so much so, that she was invited to accompany and participate with researchers next week in the long-running Sarasota Dolphin Research Project (Sarasota Bay, FL), when the scientists and veterinarians will be doing health assessments and research via ultrasounds, echocardiograms, blood draws, blubber samples, etc. on the resident wild population of bottlenose dolphins in Sarasota Bay.

Student Password Reset

This is a reminder that each year, the student accounts are re-created and passwords reset the week before school starts. Students will receive their new passwords with their schedules on Monday, August 13.
