The counseling staff utilizes a website for our students called Naviance/Family Connection. Naviance is a web-based resource that provides support and guidance to students, families and school staff to promote student achievement and post-secondary success. Parents and students have access to this valuable tool.
College Planning, Career Planning and Success Planning (About Me) are the core dimensions of Naviance.
Students and parents are provided with valuable insight into the college admissions process with scattergrams, scholarship information and application statistics. Students may take an inventory that generates a list of potential colleges and save colleges of interest to their list. Students also sign up for the IA college visits on Naviance. Summer programs are also listed in this section.
Using age-appropriate career search and survey tools, Naviance gives students a comprehensive view of career clusters and recommended plans of study to prepare for those careers. This includes career exploration and career interest and personality assessments. Students learn more about where they might go in the future with career descriptions, preparation and requirements.
Success Planning (About Me)
This section contains information about the student. Students can view their assessment and survey results, saved colleges and careers, journal entries, goals, and tasks. Students can also build a resume page.
