Okma Weekly Message February 12, 2021
Greetings IA Community!
We are now on mid-winter break. Most years we are off to some place warm or heading to the slopes. We hope whatever your plans are, you stay safe, masked and distant. COVID guidelines require students to quarantine for 14 days after International travel. Please keep this in mind and have your child attend virtually for 14 days upon return if you travel internationally.
Classes resume February 22.
Here is to the year of the ox!

2 JUNIORS ACHIEVE EAGLE RANK IN SCOUTING - It usually takes scouts between 3-5 years to reach the rank of Eagle Scout, but Katie Skaleski and Kate Tang accomplished this feat in 2 years!!! We are so proud because only 2%-5% of scouts are able to achieve this rank. Scouts BSA only began allowing females to join the traditionally male organization in 2019. Katie & Kate will be part of the inaugural class of young women to complete the Eagle requirements. CONGRATULATIONS!!
For those that are interested in joining this amazing all female troop, contact Troop Leader, Heidi Kreindler at email@example.com.
BIG THANK YOU! - the seniors had a rocking time at Bowers Farm tubing and hanging out around the bon fire while drinking hot cocoa, eating pizza and s’mores. This event couldn’t have taken place without the efforts of many volunteers especially Sarah Khan-Williams, Angel Lau, Sue Tang and Amy Merchant!!! The Seniors thank you!
PATHWAY TO COLLEGE SEMINAR: Based on parent feedback, the PTIA has scheduled a Pathway to College Virtual Seminar for the community on Wednesday April 7th at 7PM.
