Okma Weekly Message November 20, 2020
Greetings IA Families,
We hope this email finds you all healthy and happy. Next week is a short week for the Thanksgiving holiday with only 2 days of virtual classes on Monday and Tuesday. Please stay safe this Thanksgiving holiday, keep your kids home, and remind them the risks they take may not be their own.
Student Shout-out!
MSBOA ALL-STATE
Congratulations to 11th grade clarinetist Ryan Jin and 9th grade oboist Sri Saanvi Brahameshwarapu! Ryan earned the top honor of a place in the All-State Orchestra. Saanvi earned an Honorable Mention for All-State Band. This honor, based on video-recorded auditions, places them among the most accomplished high musicians on their respective instruments in the state of Michigan. Ryan and Saanvi, we are so proud of you, and how you represent the IA so well!
Applications for the Class of 2025 are now being accepted. If you have an 8th grader or know off any that are interested in attending our world class school, please direct them to our Prospective Students page to fill out an application.
Technology Items
Parents, be sure to check out our Families page on the School Life tab of iatoday.org There you will find answers to many of your technology related questions including how to get the QR mobile login for the CANVAS app for your phone.
Students have been advised to use this form to report issues as completely as possible since the occasional email that states " I couldn't access..." without any further info as to what or where is not the most efficient method to get issues resolved (LOL). So, if your student has trouble, remind them of this form. Parents can report issues there too. It can also be found on our Quick Links for Students page under the School Life tab of our website.
Parents may be receiving notifications of assignments. If the assignment is a google doc, parents will not have access. Parents can customize their notification settings in their CANVAS account by clicking on notifications. This is highly recommended.
Seniors Families! Please be sure to check the senior portrait information that has been posted at the bottom of this page!
